Spring Sing Company 2022

Known as UCLA’s oldest and grandest tradition, Spring Sing is a celebration of UCLA’s student body through performance and talent acts such as a cappella, student musicians, and dance. The show is hosted by the student group called Company. Twelve students are hand picked out of over 400 auditionees after going through a multi-tier audition process in which applicants showcase their skills in sketch writing, comedy, as well as performance. The members of Company then work every week from January until May writing and deliberating on sketch ideas to be performed throughout the show, with sketches centering around topics such as pop culture and UCLA student life. Notable members of company include SNL’s very own Nasim Pedrad and Mikey Day. The entire show is watched by a panel of celebrity judges who deliberate on best performance act as well as Company sketch, with past judges including President Ronald Reagan, Jason Alexander, Kathy Bates, and many more. It was an honor to perform this year live for the first time since covid hit in front of over 6,000 eager students, and I am so lucky to have gotten to be a part of UCLA’s grandest tradition.
